Amit is from Bhilai but is kinda settled in US for 5 years now. He did bachelors in Food Technology from HBTI, MS from Mississippi State University and is currently PhD at Minneapolis. In 2005, he got married to Bela, whom he discoverd in US. He is the main person for creating group feeling in 161 gang. The credit for the naming the group as 161 also goes to him. To say that Amit is decent, polite and other such goodies would be redundancy.

The striking thing about him is his clarity of thought, and his depth of thought process. He is intelligent and has an opinion on almost everything. This includes India's stand on Kashmir as well as Nandita Das' sex appeal.

In college, he used to write poems in Hindi but unlike most teenage amateur poets whose themes revolve around love and rejection, Pal's subjects were the gist of life, nature, people, and attitudes. We always pulled his leg on his poetry but we all knew at heart the gravity of it. Also, Amit has very fine tastes and it is reflected from his choice of music, attires, style of speaking and carrying himself around. His good looks provide solid ground for these things. Cant say he could have been a model if things would have turned favourably. His favorite pastimes are listening ghazals and at times writing personal diary. Of late, he has been more passionate about his subjects of study, research on beer and wine, and quiz participations.
